Clearer editing controls and unsaved changes

In the next iOS and Android update, folder navigation uses one title in the main header, with Back beside it. The duplicate folder title below the header is removed. Back opens the parent folder and keeps the current layout and filters.

In the next iOS and Android update, photo and video editors use Save and offer Save, Discard edits or Keep editing when you leave with unsaved changes. Photo blur controls show Blur strength and Brush size. While typing, the keyboard covers the controls without shrinking the photo preview. Drag text directly to move it, rotate it with two fingers, or use its right-side remove button. Confirm keeps the current operation; Cancel restores its starting state. Save in the leave prompt confirms the visible operation before saving.

In the next iOS update, deleting a file from Files or its private preview opens a centered confirmation alert with Delete file and Cancel.

Video thumbnails and duration

In the next iOS and Android update, video tiles show a poster frame and duration in grid and list views, including inside folders. New imports and edited videos save these details encrypted with the file. Existing local videos are filled in one at a time on the current page, decrypting only the parts needed in memory without writing a decrypted copy to disk. Unavailable files or unsupported codecs keep their fallback icon.

Folder back gestures, smoother text and automatic tags

On iOS, swipe right from the left edge or tap Back to open the parent folder. Each gesture goes back one level and keeps layout and filters. The vault root stays open.

In an upcoming iOS update, photo-editor text follows the move handle smoothly while dragging, including on rotated or mirrored photos.

On iOS and Android, press Enter or Return to create and save a tag immediately. Removing a tag saves automatically too. The tag editor stays open and the keyboard remains visible for the next tag, with no separate Save action.

These changes are in development for future iOS and Android releases.

iOS camera photo editing and iCloud stability

On iOS, camera HEIC, HDR and higher-bit-depth photos can be edited when the system can decode them. Saving creates a standard-range still PNG: HDR is tone-mapped, auxiliary depth and motion data are omitted, and animated images use their first frame. Android can still reject animated, HDR and unsupported inputs. A failed edit leaves the stored source unchanged.

An upcoming iOS update fixes a crash when iCloud sync queues uploads or pauses after an account change or sync error. Your local vault data is retained.

These changes are in development for a future iOS release.

App settings and support

On iOS and Android, Support appears near the bottom of app and vault settings.

These changes are in development for future iOS and Android releases.

Paged mobile vaults, Android folder actions and pattern-screen imports

On iOS and Android, Files loads up to 60 items per page. Use Previous and Next below the files. Only the current page’s thumbnails are decrypted for browsing. Search, tags and favourites include matching files beyond the current page. Filtering, tag discovery, folder covers and preparing a preview sequence may scan more encrypted metadata on this device. Private-preview swipes cross page boundaries within the current folder and filters. Locking clears the browsing session.

On iOS and Android, deleting a non-empty folder offers moving its contents to another folder or the vault root, or confirming deletion of the entire subtree. Moving preserves nested folders and file identities; conflicting folder names must be resolved first.

Files waiting for upload in a synced iOS or Android vault show a small circular indicator at the bottom left, with no filled background. Progress advances as encrypted segments are confirmed and disappears when the upload is committed. It can advance in steps and stay pending while offline or paused. Local-only vaults show no upload indicator.

On iOS and Android, the more icon at the top of the pattern screen opens Restore vault and Receive a vault from another phone. Both open the verified .qvault importer: choose a backup or transfer file and enter its separate recovery or transfer key. This does not reveal or unlock existing vaults.

These changes are in development for future iOS and Android releases.

Store purchase restores, folder labels and clearer settings

On iOS, use Restore purchases with the Apple Account that made the purchase. On Android, use the original Google Play account. Same-store device replacements do not need another lifetime purchase or approval from the old device. A network connection is required to verify a restore. Apple and Google purchases are separate. An iOS purchase does not unlock Pro on Android, and an Android purchase does not unlock Pro on iOS. Purchase Pro separately when changing platforms. Transferring an encrypted vault or connecting cloud sync does not transfer a store entitlement.

Folder names appear over their covers, with a folder icon when no photo thumbnail is available. The favourites star stays visible in the Files header. Open File view options for Grid view, List view and Exit vault at the root. Your layout choice is saved on this device for future opens.

The app title and vault name have more room in the header after moving file layout and Exit actions into the options menu. Vault settings keeps App settings in a separate section. Support contains Help & support, Feedback & requests, Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Help and legal links open the public website; Feedback & requests opens the in-app form.

These changes are in development for future iOS and Android releases.

Header favourites, photo folders and iOS preview paging

Favourites move from phone bottom navigation to a star in the Files header on iOS and Android. The filled blue state filters the current folder without clearing search, tags, category or layout. Tablet sidebars retain a shortcut to the vault’s favourites.

Files and Settings are the phone navigation destinations on iOS and Android. Former albums appear as ordinary folders, preserving their names, contents and nested structure. Folders use available photo thumbnails as automatic covers, with a folder icon as fallback. Header grid/list controls remain available.

iOS private previews use native image, media, PDF and text viewers with swipe paging. Cancelled swipes leave reusable page controllers, while temporary decrypted content is released when no longer needed. Fitted images pass horizontal drags to the pager; pinch or double-tap to zoom. These changes are in development for a future mobile update.

Preview swipes, folder deletion choices and Android bottom sheets

iOS private previews now recognize horizontal swipes alongside the embedded viewer’s gestures. Swipe left or right through the current collection; folder and album previews stay inside that container. Zoomed content keeps its own pan gestures.

Deleting a non-empty iOS folder or album now offers moving its contents to another folder or the vault root, or deleting the entire subtree after confirmation. File moves preserve encrypted file data and nested folder structure. Folder metadata and file changes are committed together; conflicting destination folder names are unavailable.

Android replaces the inline search bar with a floating search button that opens a bottom sheet for filenames, tags and clearing filters. On phones, the plus button opens an add-action bottom sheet with imports, gallery selection, camera capture, folders and vault creation. Tablets keep the expanding add menu. Sheets close and clear their visible private fields when the vault locks. These changes are in development for future mobile updates.

iOS albums, upload progress and swipe previews

Albums on iPhone and iPad use encrypted folders: each file has one location, and moving into an album does not duplicate it. The Create album button has horizontal padding. File thumbnails have no favourite overlay; use the preview or file options to change favourites.

Files waiting for upload in a synced vault show a small circular indicator at the bottom left, with no filled background. Progress advances as encrypted segments are confirmed and disappears when the upload is committed. It can advance in steps and stay pending while offline or paused. Local-only vaults show no upload indicator. These changes are in development for a future iOS update.

Private previews on iPhone and iPad use swipe navigation without top arrows or a position counter. Swipe left or right to move through the current collection.

Empty iOS vaults now say Tap + to add files, pointing to the menu for file imports, the photo library and camera capture instead of a button that opens only the file picker. These changes are in development for a future iOS update.

iOS settings and their nested screens have extra bottom scroll space when the floating navigation bar is visible, keeping the final controls reachable. This adjustment is in development for a future iOS update.

Practical help and easier mobile browsing

A searchable help centre now covers setup, recovery, imports, private editing, syncing, sharing, purchases and troubleshooting. Each article includes practical steps, related guidance and a route to customer support. Help & support in mobile settings opens the website.

Private previews now use an interactive carousel: pages follow your finger, with previous/next controls available too. Every file type keeps its place in the current collection; unsupported formats show a safe placeholder. Previous and cancelled temporary previews are released. Android’s photo editor opens immediately and fades in the image when ready, without a loading popup. Android’s plus button opens a compact speed dial with floating icon buttons and separate labels. Its header now keeps the vault name beneath the main title, and both apps show a translated Favorites title. Mobile changes are in development for a future app update.

Underline tabs for Android file categories

All, Photos, Videos, Documents and Audio now use scrollable text tabs with a smooth underline indicating the selected category. Switching categories updates the current file view without rebuilding the screen or resetting the search. These changes are in development for a future Android update.

Clearer plan panels on Android

Android’s paywall now presents Pro and Pro + Cloud as selectable panels with a short description and a visible selection indicator. The panels stack in narrow windows or with larger text. Choosing a panel updates its plans and transitions the gold artwork; lifetime Pro remains within Pro, and separate Cloud subscriptions remain available only to lifetime Pro owners. These changes are in development for a future Android update.

Adaptive iPad, Android tablet and iPhone Duo layouts

iPad now has a vault sidebar, and wider Android windows use a navigation rail. Thumbnail grids fit additional columns where space allows. Forms and editing controls stay at a comfortable width, while compact screens retain their phone layout.

iPhone Duo follows the available width as the display changes, with centred floating navigation and preserved editor state. Android rotation and window resizing keep the current foreground vault open. Background locking and pattern-gesture safeguards remain active. These changes are in development for a future app update.

Android navigation, settings and smoother capture

The Android pattern screen centres the grid beneath the Revault name and logo. Bottom navigation uses icons and labels with a selected indicator, and settings are grouped into readable rows with a back arrow and title in the header.

The Android file grid now shows two columns of thumbnails without file cards, names, detail labels or action buttons. Tap to preview and long-press for file options. List view retains filenames and details beside a thumbnail; folders open with a tap and offer options on a long press.

Private preview now has quick icons for favourites, editing and encrypted sharing, plus an overflow menu for other file actions. Long filenames truncate on one line. The photo editor uses a back arrow beside its title, and settings sections share rounded white surfaces with a dark-mode equivalent.

The Android system navigation area matches the bottom bar in light and dark themes. Adding or removing a favourite saves without a progress popup and keeps the private preview in place.

Taking a photo or recording a video with Revault’s own camera now returns to the unlocked vault without another pattern entry. Leaving the app during capture still locks the vault and clears its held session key. These changes are in development for a future Android update.

A clearer Android vault toolbar

Android now has a floating Add button above the bottom navigation, with folder creation in its menu. Settings is available from the bottom tab, and the vault root’s red Exit action sits beside the grid/list toggle in the header. Extra bottom spacing keeps file content clear of the floating button.

Confirmable photo edits, in-place text and brush blur

Photo tools now preview changes until you choose Confirm on the right of the tool header. Back discards that operation while preserving earlier confirmed edits, and each confirmed operation is one undo step. Save changes accepts only confirmed edits.

Text can be typed directly on the photo and positioned with its move handle. Blur is now a brush with separate size and strength controls, so you can paint the areas you want to soften. Solid Redact remains the tool for covering sensitive information.

Photo blur and private video editing

The mobile editors now include a regional photo blur with adjustable strength, alongside crop, rotate, flip, colour adjustments, drawing, text and solid redaction. Blur is a visual effect; use Redact to cover sensitive information.

A dedicated video editor lets you trim a clip, crop its frame, rotate or flip it, and remove its audio. Preview and editing stay on your device. Saving replaces the encrypted vault item while keeping its folder, tags and favourite status; copies outside the vault are unchanged.

The website now includes a video editor feature page and expanded photo editor guidance, with app previews, practical workflows and translations across all supported languages. These mobile changes are in development and will be available in a future app update.

Simpler vault setup and editor controls

Vault creation settings are arranged on a single page in logical sections. Photo editing opens on its own screen, with editing tools along the bottom. Selecting a tool replaces the tool strip with its controls; Back restores the strip while keeping your edits. iOS uses Liquid Glass where supported.

Cleaner storage after cloud sync

Android now removes obsolete local encrypted file chunks after applying a Revault Cloud snapshot. Cleanup runs only after the updated snapshot is committed, preserves other vaults and active downloads, and reclaims space when a synced file has been removed on another device.

A more private mobile preview

Development updates introduced account-free mobile vaults with optional private iCloud or Google Drive syncing, configured separately for each vault. A configurable inactivity lock defaults to 60 seconds, and the apps lock immediately when backgrounded.

Encrypted sharing uses a separate secret with access limits, expiry, export permissions and an optional timer after first access. In-vault search, favourites, folders, tags, optional media optimization and direct photo or video capture help organize private files.

Mobile settings gained feedback, feature requests and bug reports without account creation. The website added secure-sharing guides, translated feature pages, a device-aware download page and a landing-page QR code.
